We chose to breed Lagotto Romagnolos because they meet the expectations of many families looking for a dog comparable to a medium-sized Labradoodle. The Lagotto is intelligent, affectionate and has a strong will to please: it enjoys learning, working with its owner and making its family happy. Woefkesranch is a family-run dog breeder located in Putte, between Brussels and Antwerp, approximately 40 kilometres from Brussels. Our Lagotto Romagnolo puppies are born in Belgium at our own breeding facility. You are welcome to visit by appointment to meet the puppies and their mother.
Where can I find a Lagotto Romagnolo puppy bred in Belgium?
Woefkesranch’s Lagotto Romagnolo puppies are born and raised in Belgium. We do not import our puppies from abroad or operate as an intermediary. For every available puppy, we provide its date of birth, mother, father, price and Belgian origin.
Which health checks are performed on Lagotto Romagnolos?
We select the parent dogs based on their health, temperament and the results of health checks appropriate for the Lagotto Romagnolo. Known hereditary conditions within the breed include Benign Familial Juvenile Epilepsy, also known as BFJE, and Lagotto Storage Disease, abbreviated as LSD. We can explain the relevant health checks and results of each litter’s parents to prospective owners. Genetic testing reduces certain hereditary risks but can never guarantee that a dog will not develop health problems during its lifetime.

Early socialisation is particularly important for the Lagotto Romagnolo because the breed can sometimes be reserved around unfamiliar people and new situations. Before leaving for their new homes, our Lagotto Romagnolo puppies receive the care and vaccinations appropriate for their age. They are dewormed several times, microchipped and provided with a Belgian and European pet passport. Their new owners also receive information about upcoming vaccinations, deworming and further care.
