Responsible dachshund breeders only have a litter when the mother has fully recovered from previous litters. There are generally one to six puppies in each litter. As the popularity of the breed grows, demand has exceeded supply. This leads to the price rising.
How to recognize a scammer?
Sometimes you find dachshund puppies at abnormally low prices on sales sites (kapaza, 2dehands, marktplaats, etc…). Often these are advertisements from scammers.
